  • Experience

I have a wealth of life and work experience which I find useful in the work I do. The feedback I have received from my clients says that they found me naturally easy to talk to and feel comfortable. See testimonials

In my 20 years of practice in social care and counselling , I have been privileged to work with individuals, children and families who had difficulties with:

    low self esteem and confidence
    recovering alcoholics/drug users
    anxiety
    depression
    clients fleeing from domestic violence
clients whose children were at risk of offending behaviour
    childhood abuse and trauma
    self harm
    eating disorders
    loss/bereavement.......and lots more.

My professional background includes working in three voluntary counselling agencies. My counselling post as a Network Counsellor at Weston College provided the opportunity to work with adults and young people which supported them in continuing their studies .

Working for North Somerset Council’s Youth Offending Team gave me the opportunity to develop and pilot a counselling service. This was the first in-house counselling service giving parents who were at risk of offending the opportunity to receive free counselling.

Crossroads Care is an agency that provides support and counselling to young people and adult carers who are caring for a person who is unable to care for themselves . This position involved providing counselling to adult carers which gave them the vital emotional support they needed to continue providing the care their loved one needed.
