Counselling for children and parenting support
Your relationship with your child/children or young adult is important so, that's where the work begins.
Firstly, I would meet with you and assess the best way forward for you and your child. There are one of two approaches that we could use and they are:
You attend one-to-one parenting/counselling sessions. We would explore your concerns and use the parental relationship to create changes within your child. This will happen by gaining a better understanding of the reasons why and how the situation has come about. Together we will develop tools and new ways of interacting with your child which will improve your child’s happiness. The approach is most helpful for young children .
The second approach will involve your child having counselling between 8 weeks to 3 months for about 45 minutes. Your child will receive a counselling service that is tailored to their emotional needs based on our initial discussions. You will receive verbal or written feedback after their eight session and again at the end of the counselling process.
