Qualified & Registered Counsellor - Supervisor (BSc , Dip sup, Dip couns, Dipsw, MBACP)
Hello, I’m Alison.
Are you feeling alone?
Do you feel anxious or depressed?
Is your child struggling to come to terms after a divorce or bereavement?
You are not alone as many people find life tough so turn to a counsellor. My clients find counselling a positive way to start feeling happier as they develop strategies which support them in managing their circumstances or feelings.
A client told me ‘now for the first time in my life, I feel listened to and not judged’. This enriched her life and improved her relationship with her husband.
Please don't be worried about making contact. I know it can be really daunting. I felt that way when I first had counselling and soon wished I did it earlier.
I promise, I will not judge you and will help you feel comfortable as well as support you in gaining skills so you feel more able to cope.
Some of the issues I have help clients with are anxiety, panic attacks, depression, loss and bereavement, childhood abuse, self-harm, addiction, stress related issues and much more….
I understand how busy life is, therefore I’m able to give you flexible appointment times. Some of my clients find they only need to come for a short period and some find it helpful to have long term counselling. Whatever your need is, that’s ok.
You will discover my therapy rooms are a welcoming place where you can feel relaxed and feel listened to. They are both located in the beautiful area of Chew Valley, South Bristol which is about 10 minutes’ drive from Whitchurch and Keynsham.

Counselling for Children and Parenting Support
I appreciate that being a parent is one of the most important jobs there is. It’s not easy balancing the demands of our lives and trying to do the best for our children.
From my own experiences, as a parent and professional working in Health and Social Care as a therapeutic worker in foster care, CAMH services and now a therapist, I’ve developed an approach that has helped many families feel more relaxed in their relationships.
I use a fun and creative technique. This include sand tray therapy, storytelling and non-directive talking therapy which helps them to feel relaxed so they can learn how to manage feelings like anxieties, anger, bereavement and separation.
I have an enhanced DBS check
I have a Diploma in Supervision and started my career providing supervision in Health and Social Care and now provide supervision for counsellors and psychotherapist.
As a supervisor my most important principle is to ensure client’s welfare is always the primary concern and that the BACP’s Ethical Framework is actively adhered to. I hold in mind the supervisee’s professional standards and their ability to be respectful, develop good relationships, show integrity and be accountable. Alongside that I consider ‘The Seven- Eyed process model of supervision which is a comprehensive approach and is used by many supervisors in a number of professions.
I provide face-to-face, Skype and group supervision and some evening sessions.
